Tehran is prepared to resume nuclear discussions with the United States provided that it is handled with "respect" and "honor", Tehran's foreign minister has declared.

Abbas Araghchi declared solely negotiations worked, and disclosed new appeals had been made by intermediaries to reopen negotiations with the American leadership. He claimed Iran possessed no unreported enrichment locations, and Tehran could not yet authorize the UN nuclear inspectorate to access bombed nuclear sites for safety concerns.

Navigating a Challenging Path

The foreign minister is walking a complex path since Iran does not want be seen to be proceeding from a position of weakness, and he emphatically stated that Iran had come out more powerful militarily and mentally from the joint assault on its nuclear sites in June.

He was talking at a security conference in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "a fundamental entitlement to process nuclear material on home soil that it will always maintain" – the main reason of the deadlock in the prior discussions.

Earlier Talks Suddenly Concluded

The prior phases of talks between the US and Iran were concluded unexpectedly and hostile conclusion on 12 June when Israel, with US support, struck Iran's enrichment centers in a fortnight-long engagement that concluded with Donald Trump declaring the locations had been destroyed. Following this, EU nations used their right to restore international penalties, but Iran insists they have not had a major impact.

Ideal Resolution Proposed

Tehran representatives stated they felt they had attained a "magic solution" to the uranium processing matter in earlier negotiations, when it was agreed an Iran-based consortium with Washington's engagement could process nuclear material. Each party would have been able to assert triumph since domestic enrichment would have continued and the US could be assured that Iran's atomic project was entirely non-military.

It had not been decided in the talks that US nuclear scientists could work within Iranian territory, but that was a natural consequence of the partnership suggestion. Officials claimed on multiple occasions they had secured an understanding with the US representative Steve Witkoff only for the arrangement to disintegrate due to "detractors in America".

Current Status

Tehran representatives declared the partnership proposal was now no longer available, but it seems highly likely the suggestion could be revived in certain ways if talks restart.

The American leader recently claimed he had been obtaining communications that Iran desired to restart talks, but privately Tehran representatives claim they are not yet getting clear proposals from the United States either directly or from important Middle Eastern intermediaries, such as the Qatari government, the Egyptian leadership, Oman and Saudi Arabia. The Tehran's diplomatic corps has been criticized of inactivity in the aftermath of the US president's straightforward manner, but Tehran says diplomacy is not part of a performance.

Negotiating Position

In his speech to the forum, designed to depict the US as a controlling nation that exploits the idea of international law, Araghchi said the 12-day war revealed the clash could not be resolved by military means. He stated the strikes began with a Washington's ultimatum for an unconditional Iranian surrender and ended with an unconditional call for a halt to hostilities.

Iran is certain the initial Israeli attacks were carried out with total Washington understanding and coordination, making confidence challenging to reestablish.

Diplomacy Remains the Ultimate Answer

The foreign minister stated: "It was not Iran that had abandoned diplomacy; it was America and the European states that had always attempted to dictate their will during the talks. Diplomacy can still be viable and continues the primary solution to settle disputes, but its requirements, guidelines and fundamentals must be followed."

"If they address to the Iranian people with the approach of dignity and honor, they will get a response in the equivalent language."

Recovery and Rebuilding

In what is portrayed by Iran's diplomats as the conflict of repair and reconstruction, the foreign minister claimed he was certain Iran's military capacities "have significantly improved than prior to 13 or 14 June of this year. Our entire military infrastructure have been reestablished. We learned numerous insights from this engagement; we have identified our personal limitations and the shortcomings of the adversary."

He continued: "We successfully passed this conflict. Our nuclear technology, which they aimed to obliterate, stays intact. The facilities and machinery, if destroyed, will be restored; what is important is the resolve of the citizens of Tehran and then the national cohesion that they aimed at, but did not succeed to destroy. The citizens of Tehran have become more powerful, more united, and more endorsing of the leadership and the country in the face of this invasion."
